New York Color's blushable creme sticks are great worn alone or layered with powder over the top. These blushes can even be used as a highlighter or a bronzer depending on the color and your skintone. They provide a nice sheer wash of color at a very affordable price.
Mauvin' Uptown may not be the most appropriate name for this particular shade. It is definitely much more brown and much less mauve. In fact, if you ask me it doesn't resemble mauve at all, but the names are clever and I can appreciate the attempt at makeup humor.
As you can see from the swatch, the color is definitely brown, but after blending it leaves a very sheer hint of color that you could build up or even go over with another powder blush for more dimension. This shade is also perfect for some subtle bronzing over the top of another powder blush. The swatch below is just a solid drag of color straight from the tube. I recommend running your fingertip in circles over the stick to warm it up and apply it directly to the cheeks with your fingers. It spreads easily and blends with no harsh lines or color deposits left behind.
